Seaweed on Thurso Beach in Caithness
Thurso Beach in Caithness, Scotland. Flower of Scotland
Ok I realise that this is not the "Flower of Scotland" as in music, neither is it a thistle, normally associated with being the flower of Scotland. It is a picture of a bee on a flower and as I did not use a tripod it is not too bad considering. Larger size for you of this image is available x800 and x1024 and finally x1400 Highland CattleOn the way back from a recent dog walk I came across a field of Highland Cattle - well I do love taking photographs of these lovely creatures and I hope you enjoy them. CaithnessWe spent a few days in Caithness recently and loved it. The area around the towns of Wick and Thurso may not be as rugged as the west coast of Scotland yet it does have many beautiful locations as well as outstanding areas of with wildlife. And of course you can jump on a ferry to Orkney from Scrabster. On our way back to Fife we stopped briefly at Latheronwheel to have a look at the harbour and I fell in love with the place. Enjoy the photos and plan your next visit to Scotland and visit Caithness. Wester RossMany words can be written about Wester Ross on the north west coast of the Scottish Highlands, the best way to experience Wester Ross is simply to visit the Highlands and see it for yourself, first have a look at our pictures of Wester Ross. AnstrutherAnstruther is on the north east of Fife not far from the home of golf - St Andrews. East Neuk as the area is called is famous for Scottish tourism and you will love the small community that is home of probably best fish and chip shop in Scotland - Anstruther Fish and Chips as well as the Scottish Fisheries Museum. Anstruther has many other interesting places to visit, the small pubs have not changed and still have authentic, and real, character and you will feel that time has stopped and you have gone back to the 60's. The marina at Anstruther brings colour and boats of all sizes, yachts and traditional fishing boats as well as original boats from the grand days when the communities around the east neuk were known and famous for it's fishing fleet. The local boats still go out for crab and lobster. Visit Scotland with our pictures of Anstruther Pictures of a Llama in Scotland Pictures of Scotland Raptors and Owls
