 Not the original "Lovecraft" text. January 24, 2008
Donald Tyson takes the older version of the Necronomicon that many people believe was actually written by H.P. Lovecraft, and removes all of the ceremonial spells and diagrams for this new version. In fact, the Tyson version was made more as a tribute to the stories of H.P. Lovecraft by basically implementing elements from Lovecraft's stories into this new Necronomicon. The way it is now presented allows fans of Lovecraft's stories to have a Necronomicon more similar to how Lovecraft originally wrote about it, while at the same time keeping most of the "original" text accurate. As a companion to Lovecraft's stories, it is a great addition. However, it is not the "original" version that has been out for so long now. I would recommend this book for fans of fiction and horror, and the Lovecraft Necronomicon for fans of the occult.
