Gizzard grinding action! February 2, 2004 This is the third book in the Gaudians of Ga'Hoole series, and by far the most action-filled. When Soren's favorite ryb disappears under mysterious circumstances, his band of friends set out find him. What they discover is something more sinister than they had ever imagined. The young owls of the band find some serious trouble, and use brains and brawn to get out of it. My favorite part of the story is the description of the rich owl culture that has developed in the kingdoms of the owls and on the island of Ga'Hoole. This, more than anything else, immerses the reader in this magical world.

The third book in the Guardians of Ga'hoole series.Soren and his friends must find his favorite teacher Ezylryb, who teaches the colliering chaw.A chaw is like a subject in school. Colliering is the the study of fire, the young owls must get coals from forest fires to fuel the blacksmith's forge who makes battle claws, plates and cups. The Pure Ones,(who think that Barn Owls are the best of all species)may have something to do with Ezylryb disappearence. On their quest to save Ezylryb they have to face the Pure Ones leader Metal Beak(who has a metal mask on his face). There is a great suprise ending. You might be a little confused if you don't read the other 2 books first, but still a great book.
