Much ado about nothing September 29, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Keith Candido has set himself quite the task trying to cohesively unite all the different Q stories from twenty years of Star Trek TNG . The premise of this novel being that Q has been grooming Jean Luc Picard to save the universe from a mysterious race of aliens who can destroy the universe if they get bored!!!
This novel introduces another couple of new crew members namely the new security chief and the new second officer. We get a couple of nice scenes between Picard and Crusher. We see LaForge struggling with Data's death. Candido also nails Q's voice and you can practically hear the great John DeLancie in some of the scenes. It is just a pity that the book remains somewhat underwhelming but entertaining. Let us see what Peter David has in store with the next book.
