5 out of 5 stars Very useful   June 16, 2007

The book proved extremely useful with an intriguing set of texts.

I am also a current student of Mr Parr, who has given the most enjoyable Latin lessons I have had.

This book has proved indespensible to my understanding of Latin literature. It is well-written, presented and is lucid in it's masterly exposition of the key Latin classical texts. I would highly recommend it to any student of GSCE Latin who is looking to attain a high grade. The co-author, Mr Philip Parr, is an accomplished and excellent Latin teacher and I can personally vouch for his wit and intergrity as i myself have personally benefited from his knowledge for 3 years.

I found this anthology very intriguing, with its choice of texts and the additional vocabulary given. I believe that in this book, the authors, particularly Mr Parr, has shone through as an incredibly well thought out person, who has chosen the texts with particular care. I am impressed by the way he accompanies his careful texts with impressive teaching, explaining everything with in-depth detail to illustrate fully the meanings of the anthology.
