| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.co.uk Review Frog's are strangely fascinating creatures, and being allowed to exmaine their lives as they grow from frogspawn to tadpoles and into the familiar adult creatures that we know and love is certainly something to keep curious little minds occupied for a while. Animal Lives: The Frog allows just such examination as it follows the story of a frog who emerges from its winter hibernation and makes its way back to the pond, feeding on worms, flies, spiders and other such juicy bugs en route. Once at the pond it joins with the other male frogs on their mission to find a mate, and the reader experiences the tricky procedure behind the mating habits of frogs, watching them as frogspawn is fertilised and then left to grow into tadpoles that eventually turn into frogs Animal Lives: The Frog provides plenty of information to keep the curious occupied, and it is written in a simple, upbeat style to keep the interest levels up while the detailed illustrations add depth and satisfy the curiosity. At the end of the book is further information on different types of frog from around the world (such as the African Reed Frog, the Tree Frog and the South American Arrow Poison Frog) plus a glossary of "frog words" and a list of useful contacts if you want to find out more. (Ages 4 to 6) --Miranda Warren
