5 out of 5 stars Solid and well powered   August 27, 2008

The machine is very solidly built and easy to use. You must ask yourself why the Henry is so commonly seen in commercial environments?
The only reservations I had before purchasing this was the power. 1200W compared to a 2000W+ Dyson.
Well, I have owned both a Dyson and now a Henry, and I must say that the Henry seems to have more, or at least equal suction to the Dyson, which is a testament to the engineering. You are essentially saving half of the power for no loss of useability. Just goes to show you that wattage doesn't necessarily mean better suction!
Due to the sheer solidity of the Henry, I can't see any particular weak points, and am pretty sure he could survive a tumble down the stairs. The hoses are stainless steel and push together using simple friction rather than some fancy clip arrangement which my Dyson had.
My wife suffers from a dust allergy, and this Henry version has stopped the sneezing whilst vaccuuming.

5 out of 5 stars Wish i'd bought Henry years ago....   June 16, 2008

I have no doubt that i could have saved myself a LOT of money over the years. I've been through quite a few vacum cleaners and all i've ever wanted was a vacum cleaner that did what it's meant to do...clean thoroughly and not lose suction after 5 minutes. Henry does all that and more. it's made cleaning a much more enjoyable chore and i particularly like the extra long cord which means that i don't keep moving the plug about. A top product and i'm amazed that it doesn't receive more advertising like some of the other well known (but not as high performing) brands!

5 out of 5 stars Every Girl's dream man   February 17, 2008

After 40+ years of bad relationships with hoovers I have finally found every girl's dream man - one that does the cleaning! Having lost my rag for the final time with my (less than a year old) Electrolux, turbo, hepa filtration etc etc which needed the filters cleaning out 3 times during one clean of a small bungalow thereby covering my allergic skin with dust, I bought a Henry.
Cleaning is my least favourite occupation (I consider all cleaning extreme)but with Henry it is as hassle free as cleaning can get. It simply does what it says on the tin i.e. sucks stuff up off the floor which is all I've ever wanted a hoover to do. It copes effortlessly with all the stuff a farm can throw at it - bits of hay, straw, oats, stones, chippings, lumps of mud, bits of coal & wood ash. After several weeks the bag is not even half full & I was impressed when I took the top off to see how effective the filtration is - there is only the slightest trace of dust on the inside of the machine.
The cleaning head sucks effectively across its whole width and the cable & hose are a really good length - the long hose makes it easier to get into awkward corners in small rooms without having to cram the whole machine into the space and although I hate to admit it, if it does get caught in a doorway & fall over it's hard to be cross with it because of the silly grin. I have only one minor complaint - it's not very easy to get the tubes apart but I expect them to become easier once the newness wears off.
I don't think I'll ever look at another hoover again.

5 out of 5 stars DITCH THE DYSON   January 10, 2008

Just received my Henry Micro as a replacement for my Dyson upright (heavy, very little suction when using tools, NOISY, expensive) and I am very impressed. Even on low power Henry has much more suction than the Dyson and on full power lifts the carpet off the floor and will create "stripes" in the pile like a well mowed lawn. The flex is much longer than the Dyson and overall build quality is superb, also it is easy to store being so compact. The lack of on board tool storage is a minor complaint (there is a clip for 1 attachment) and the hose will not reach the full heght of my stairs (longer hoses are cheaply available if reqd) but overall it appears to be an excellent package for an amazingly cheap price. Shop around for the special Micro bags and you can get them for 4 for 5 delivered. I wish i had bought one of these years ago
