2 out of 5 stars B LOCKS UPLOADS   November 25, 2008
THIS ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE IS OK - WITH ONE BIG EXCEPTION.
IT DOES NOT LET YOU UPLOAD! EVEN WITH THE FIREWALL DISABLED I COULD NOT UPLOAD TO YOUTUBE OR RAPIDSHARE.COM ETC. I HAVE N0W TAKEN IT OFF AFTER ONE WEEK'S USE.

4 out of 5 stars loaded okay... lets see what happens next   November 22, 2008

I have managed to load this okay.

I had a little stumbling block when it wanted to 'learn what emails are spam'. It was taking ages and I do not need this service as I use Yahoo Mail, but when I tried to skip over this it locked up. I had to close down the installation and start again but the same thing happened.
This could have been a problem on my side, as my machine then talked about Windows Mail running when it wasn't.

I resolved this by forcing Windows Mail to stop in the tasks manager.

Kasperspy is now loaded and looks pretty good. It has a nice user friendly menu which lets me see exactly what's going on.

This software seems good value for money if it works. I was put off from renewing my Norton software after I read on this site that they automatically use your card details in the future to renew again without asking. Shopping around rather than renewing with your existing software opens up a whole load of better deals (Norton renewal was 39.99 but even buying that same product as a new customer was cheaper!!).

I can't comment on the technical side of Kasperspy because I don't know enough about how this type of software works. But given that independent souces are saying that its good then I reckon I've made a good purchase.

1 out of 5 stars Not the greatest software   November 18, 2008

I installed this software after reading numerous good reviews even from PC Pro.
I'm running Vista Business.
As soon as i had installed it, the trouble started.
Internet explorer kept crashing along with Outlook.
Totally destabilised my system which before installing this junk software had been faultless.

Home users stay away and go with something like AVG.

I give it one star because it was easy to install.

5 out of 5 stars Kaspersky Internet Security 2009   November 13, 2008

Great product. Deleted my expiring software and loaded Kaspersky. Simple to load and configure, no problems or dramas. My machine is now faster than ever and much quicker to boot up than before.

In terms of protection, only time will tell, but so far so good. Fully recommended.

1 out of 5 stars Don't do it!   November 7, 2008

Having used Kaspersky for a number of years I upgraded to 2009 thinking it would be the best yet. Not a chance! Within a short time of booting by computer Kaspersky stopped all functions due to google desktop trying to access the internet. I tried to resolve it but no luck. So I re-installed it thinking it may solve the issue. But no, this time it stoped my computer dead in it's tracks. So I had to do a full system recovery. Trying to contact Kasperskey is another thing, I would have a better chance of robbing a bank than getting to there help desk. So in the end I gave up and risked buying Norton 2009 (I started to use Kaspersky in the first place because of Norton) What a transformation, it has changed so much. Faster than before (though that shouldn't have been a hard thing to do) and so easy to use. Access to there help desk should you need it is easy, either by Phone,E-Mail or direct link to a tech who takes control over your PC to resolve your issues. Kaspersky on the otherhand put you through a MENSA test first and then still refuse to let you contact them. Sorry Kaspersky if you want my loyalty then I want something back in return. And I don't mean a headache! Very Poor.
