Loved it September 16, 2008 This is my first encounter with Peter James, and bloody glad i chose this amongst other books in the charity shop. As i progressed through the book, my girlfriend could hear me whisper "Oh my god" several times as the story unfolded. I was part relaying the story as i read. lol. Another plus point is the story is set where i grew up, so i had the added visual bonus with the story, which was cool. Just ordered my second P.James book and cant wait to recieve it. 10/10
FANTASTIC! BUY THIS BOOK NOW! August 30, 2008 This plot has more twists than a high speed rollercoaster!! Fantastic book! I couldn't put it down! 10/10 Brilliant!!
Wow! August 27, 2008 When I was told not to read this book because it would give me nightmares of course I immediately started reading it and am I glad I did. It was absolutely gripping, completely original and I read it in three days without nightmares. Peter James has a fantastic writing style that draws you in and I couldn't keep up with the twists and turns. I've just gone out and bought Not Dead Enough and I know I shall whizz through all James' detective novels.
For me, James is up there with Robert Goddard and Harlan Coben. And that is praise indeed.
Some good bits July 29, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Just finished this book, having read it in a few hours. Its almost good, James is close to being a really good writer, However, the coincidence of Roy meeting Mark in the hallway after the poker game was a real turn off, but not as bad as the rotten ending. Using a medium to find the body?? Really scrapping the barrel.
