5 out of 5 stars Had my kids spellbound   November 21, 2006

I read the book to my kids aged 5 and 7. They are a little young for the level of English, but they loved looking for the animals hidden in the pictures. They couldn't get enough of it and woke me up at unearthly times in the morning two days in a row just so they could do another page or two.

Can't recommend this enough. Just one warning - one or two of the hidden animals are very difficult to spot. Not impossible, but very difficult.

What an excellent book. It may claim to be a childs book, but to be completely honest I think it is just as appealing to adults. It is very well thought out and designed, and for a first time reader and puzzle solver, it is simply the best book or puzzle one could ever hope for.

It is very clever in it's design and incredibly ingenious in it's puzzling appeal. It is not only a book that is a complete joy and very appealing to work through and to solve, but it is also a very fun story too.

Definately the best book, both in terms of genius and aesthetic appeal, and a must have for anyone who has not yet experienced the joys that are puzzle island. I cannot speak highly enough of what a great book this truly is. Definately my favourite book, and I can't imagine any book overtaking it in this position of mine!

I read this book when I was a child and absolutely adored it! I am now a teacher and am always looking for books that will encourage my class to read. I found this again a couple of months ago and put it in my book corner. The children absolutely adore it! Every morning they rush over to the book corner to be the first one to get the book to read it! It is a super book and my class are really enthused by it.

5 out of 5 stars An exciting and interesting puzzle.   April 1, 2000

In this book, you have to find animals hidden in the pictures. When you have done that, you have to decipher a message and translate the code. Finally, there is one last mystery to solve. A wonderful book. - Hannah and Max

5 out of 5 stars An Awesome Book   October 5, 1999

This book is great! Visually attractive, mind challenging, and with an environmental conciousness. I bring it in to my elementary school class and leave it on my desk and the children pick it up at their leisure and go off with it in small groups to try and find the hidden animals and work out the words to the puzzle. I've caught my teenager poring over the book as well. I highly recommend it.
