So disappointing February 7, 2008 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
I am off to take this book nearest charity shop - an unwanted present. It is not funny, the pictures aren't interesting, yes it has a happy ending but this is after you have read that the Mummy Owl may have been eaten by a fox?! Not one for our book shelf I'm afraid, we will stick to our happy and funny stories.

THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL BOOK, WITH WONDERFUL ILLUSTRATIONS AND DELIGHTFUL CHARACTERS. THE TEXT IS EASY FOR CHILDREN TO JOIN IN WITH. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Poor Hungry Little Owls November 15, 2006 2 out of 7 found this review helpful
Yes I agree with the other reviewers that the central theme is about the little owls worrying about whether their mother will return. But everyone seems to have missed the fact that she returns empty handed (ok - with empty talons). One of the owl chicks even mentioned that she might bring some food back for them. It seems to me that the story is just not quite all there.

Three baby owls are scared because their mummy has gone. The story is very exciting because we don't know where she is. The baby owls all sit on a branch and wait...
