Couldn't put it down February 14, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
A fantastic book from a fantastic player. An honest, sometimes emotional, account of his life. Petrov, despite his fame, is a regular guy, a real nice person who seems as if he would be good company. It reveals the struggles and hard times he had when he first arrived in Glasgow - knowing no English - and how he was so close to walking away from it all and returning to his homeland. Petrov has come along way from being a teenage prodigy to an established regular at one of the greatest clubs in the world and he had to work hard to make it happen and avoid being a multi million failure. I think that you can tell a lot about his character by the fact that his Bulgaria teammates voted him to be the captain of the national team at just 21 years of age. During his 6 and a half year Celtic career he has experienced many highs and lows in his professional and personal lives. I highly reccommend that you purchase this book to discover his own insightful wiew on growing up in Bulgaria, his time in the army, his football career, his personal life and future plans. This is a must for all Celtic fans. Petrov is our best player and future captain, he is loyal and a fans' favourite. I would say that non-Celtic fans would also enjoy this book as well so it isn't exclusively for the green and white faithful (although Hoops fans are of course the prime target audience) but for anyone who wants a good, intersting read. Hail Hail!
