So far so good January 2, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Very pleased with delivery time, especially as it was just before Christmas - Special Delivery at no extra cost!
Unit very easy to operate; extremely responsive to changes in HR.
Let's hope tgis continues to be the case, and many useful sessions will follow.
Happy new year to all!
Clapped out after a while. Junk after 3 weeks. December 26, 2007 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Very good in the short term (about 2 weeks), but sometimes the signal just breaks between the watch and the chest strap (which monitors heart rate) and the reading is completely wrong. It now doesnt work at all. A shame really, I really had high expectations. I wouldnt buy another unit thanks to this.
Oregon onto a winner here December 11, 2007 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I've tried other more expensive monitors from the likes of (rhymes with) molar and (rhymes with) fat pie, and can say this is the best one I've had to date. This beauty has a lovely blue backlight (for those of you who want to know how your heart is doing in the dark) easily accessed by a sensibly placed button on the front of the watch, a stopwatch, time of day (always useful), upper and lower HR zones with audible alarm if you stray out of your preprogrammed limits (you can switch this function off). Everything is easily set up (study the manual carefully), the chest strap/transmitter are comfortable though you do have to have it fairly tight on, especially if you're running. Comes with a bike mount (which is a definate plus) and a zipped carry pouch to keep it all in. All this for under 20 quid - brilliant.
Cheap - and now I know why October 1, 2007 27 out of 27 found this review helpful
Initially I was very pleased with the set up, a simple to use display and a very sensitive chest-strap that works with the gym machines for the very effective feedback heart rate training. However, as the other reviewer (no relation) mentioned, after a couple of weeks training, the readings were erratic, displaying an unlikely athletic 55bpm when I was a human pool of sweat, or displaying a hyperventilating kitten's heartbeat upon walking up the stairs to the gym. Changing batteries has done nothing. So personally I would recommend you do not buy this product. It is cheap but it is not good value.
Good value but basic September 28, 2007 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought this HRM as I didn't need auto this/that settings and it was the cheapest! It works perfectly during both road work and cycling. Both units seem well made for the price with the strap transmitter being particularly neat and comfortable in use. A number of minor niggles, the manual's a bit cryptic but there's not enough functionality to get too confused. The handlebar cut-out in the otherwise neat cycle mount is slightly too big necessitating excessive tension on the watch strap to secure it. The transmitter is constantly on whilst the battery is installed (confirmed with Oregon tech) so I'm removing the battery when not in use - would an off switch be too much bother? The receiver can only display one parameter at a time necessitating button pressing to switch between heart-rate and stop-watch for example. This can be a bit annoying on the move. Also you can't stop the stop-watch if isn't being displayed which would be nice. If you're after a basic entry level HRM it's a nice bit of kit and good value - I'd certainly recommend it and would buy this brand again.
