5 out of 5 stars Bosch Rotak 40   September 29, 2008
Great Lawnmower.
Very powerful for its size.
Easy to assemble.
Really light to carry about.
Quite compact for storage.
Nice even cut with great stripes from the in-built roller.
This mower gets around my lawn (about half a tennis court) in less than half the time of my old hover mower.

Great mower, make sure you buy some extra blades. mine hit a small rock and dented the blades, but with a few extra blades in the cupboard your safe. Our garden is 140 foot, so had to buy waterproof extension lead as bosch designed the product mainly for the small gardens in mind, nevertheless the leads are long.

5 out of 5 stars Lawn mowing IS a pleasure with this mower   September 23, 2008

Bosch Rotak 40 Electric Rotary Lawn Mower Bought this after reading other reviews on this site. Like others I bought this from a nationwide store because I had gift vouchers for there.

I agree with the other good reviews on this product. I had (still have but will not use again!) a petrol rotary (that did a good job if I had someone handy to start it for me) and a Flymo hover rotary.

As a slight female using this mower on both my small, smooth patch and my daughter's large and lumpy play 'field' I can say that I love this mower!! Even my teenage grandaughter was willing to help (with close supervision of course). Yes the height adjuster is wierd but once you get the hang of it, it's fine.

With all the rain lately I have been unable to get the grass cut often enough. This mower just romped through the uneven long mess and left a good cut. A second mow a week later left it looking great and with no effort at all. It's got a good area of cutting with each pass and the stripe left by the roller makes it easy to see where you're up to. I like to leave the length quite long and this mower has a good height range so making it easier when the grass has got out of hand.

This mower is also light enough for me to lift and put away myself. The upper part of the handle can be loosened with the large handle wing nuts and bolts that stay in place because of a natty spacer on the shank of the bolt that stops the nut going to end of the shank and falling apart. The handle then folds over making it fairly compact.

I would recommend this product to any one. Hope it's reliable long term!

5 out of 5 stars Best mower we've ever had!   September 21, 2008

Brilliant mower. We have a tiered garden, and not very perfect lawns (football player in the family) but with this mower they are looking as good as they ever will. Tackled our long, wet grass with ease, and was light enough to push up the 6' banks without straining. Excellent.

How rare these days to actually purchase a product that does exactly what it is meant to. Quite simply marvelous. Easy to put together(ladies if my husband can do it anyone can...he isnt very savvy in that area). The first electric mower I have ever had that works when grass is damp...hell who am I kidding it was wet. Lightweight, minimal effort required and before I had got going, it was done. Well done Bosch, now if you could just sort out your strimmers I'd be a happy girl.
