Product Description Glen of Loch Trool. Spring 1808.
Davina McKie is a bonny lass of seventeen, as clever as they come and a gifted musician. Unable to speak since childhood, she is doted on by her belligerent younger brothers, Will and Sandy, who vow to protect their silent sister.
When the lads are forced to depart the glen, Jamie McKie intends to brighten his daughter’s summer by escorting Davina to the Isle of Arran. Her cousins make her welcome at the manse, and the parish delights in hearing their talented fiddler.
But when she catches the eye of a handsome young Highlander on Midsummer Eve, sheltered Davina is unprepared for the shocking events that follow.
A timeless story of passion and revenge, of lost innocence and shattered dreams, Grace in Thine Eyes explores the sorrow of unspeakable shame and the gift of immeasurable grace.
“Just as Davina is a master of the fiddle, Liz Curtis Higgs is a master of the written word.” –Teresa Medeiros, New York Times best-selling author
“A phenomenal story that beautifully parallels its biblical counterpart.” –Tracie Peterson, best-selling author of What She Left for Me
“Absolutely wonderful. Higgs manages to turn history and imagery and language into an unforgettable work of art.” –B. J. Hoff, author of A Distant Music

Great end to a great series! October 30, 2008 If you've never read Liz Curtis Higgs and enjoy fiction set in Scotland, this is a great book. It is the final book in the series, so I would recommend reading the first three. Although, if you read just this book, you won't feel stranded. Mrs. Higgs definitely allows her books to stand alone.
Grace in thine eyes June 17, 2008 I noticied that this book got a 5 star rating, however I wasn't real thrilled about it. Perhaps if it's not a challenging book or somewhat instructive, I want it to be happy. On the back cover it talks about passion and revenge, lost innocence, shattered dreams, sorrow and shame. It needed really strong writing and a good ending to counter all that.
kGreat Book January 14, 2008 This book is so captivating a just can not put it down. I just got a week ago, and I am almost done reading it. Then of course I will have to pass it along to my sister to read when I am done with it. Liz Curtis Higgs is a wonderful writter, and this finale to the series is just supurb.
Overcoming Odds January 8, 2008 Davina McKie is the only daughter of Jamie and Leana McKie (the subjects of Thorn in My Heart, Tender is the Rose, and Whence Came a Prince.) Davina has not been able to speak since she was younger, but has found ways of communicating, one way throw a fiddle.
Her younger brothers are sent away to school, and as they have always protected Davina Jamie is worried about her. Then he sends her to a cousins house on the Isle of Arran for the summer. Davina has the time of her life getting to know her cousins who are just about her age, when a request was made to play for the Duke of Hamilton.
While there she meets Summerland McDonald who takes a shine to her. Unfortunately this leads to several tragedies that befall her while on the Island.
While there are some cheerless parts of the book, the way that the book ends makes up for it.
Outstanding December 30, 2007 Much like Francine Rivers, Liz Curtis Higgs' stories are able to reveal one's true heart and nourish the soul. Bravo.
