3 out of 5 stars Not for North America   March 22, 2007

It should be noted that this book is geared toward the sport as practiced in Britain. If you are considering Falconry in North America, you should consider other books as the laws vary considerably. I wish this had been noted in the description, as I had to return this book.

5 out of 5 stars An Excellent Introduction to a Wonderful Hobby   September 2, 2005

I have recently taken up falconry, and have found this guide to be an absolute godsend. I now know how to best feed my dear falcon, and even how to nurse him back to health when he is under the weather.
My falcon, Gustavo, is now regularly bringing me freshly killed rabbits.
Falconry is, of course, not for everyone. You need patience, some financial means, open space and a sense of tradition and decorum. For those of us who meet these criteria, it is a noble and rewarding hobby- nay, lifestyle.
