Excellent Historical background February 10, 1998 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I thoroughly enjoy learning things about historical Scotland, and this is definately the series to do it with. If I may say one thing however Diana, and that is everytime I come across a swear word in your book (which isn't very often, but the ones you pick are "the worst"), I am completely thrown for a loop. I am not a purist by any means, however, I wish you would use language that wasn't so harsh and detracts my attention from the story. Thanks for a good read!!! Monica Fast
Excellent! February 9, 1998 I loved this series of books and I think that it's the best I've ever read. Diana Gabaldon is an excellent author and I'll eagerly read anything she writes. I fell in love with her main characters at once and put myself in their situations. I hope their story can go on and on!
Best series I have ever read January 27, 1998 Truly a wonderful experience to read the whole series.I have read each of the books 5 times....& still discover something I missed earlier. I cannot wait until the 6th book is out, and am sorry it shall be the last! The medical situations are wonderful to read. The romance and realistic love Jamie & Claire share is unforgetable. Everyone should read these books....they will renew your marriage! I LOVED them.
Great book! Looking forward to number 5. January 17, 1998 Following Clare and Jamie in their escapades is almost like being there. Gabaldon does a wonderful job in placing you right in the middle of the action.
A breathtaking experience for this novice romance reader... December 8, 1997 This series has been so heartbreakingly real for me that I have gone so far as to research through Scot history on the prowl for the true James Alexander Malcom MacKenzie Fraser. Though I haven't proven his existence in historical time, he thrives in my heart and curses through my blood as rich and pure as heated Highland whiskey. I look for him in the eyes of every tender, strong, and stubborn lad that I meet.
