Helpful resource July 24, 2008 This is a helpful resource providing some good facts and is arranged in a logical manner. I like the CD too that is enables me to print something out of the book. A good value for the price.
A copy of the Life Application Study Bible January 9, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
After purchasing this book I was quite disappointed to realize this is an exact replica of all the charts and maps contained within the Life Application Study Bible (LASB). Tyndale is the publisher for all Life Application Study Bibles regardless of the Bible translation. Therefore, if you already own an LASB don't waste your time purchasing this reference material. Secondly, the charts and maps are in black and white. Don't be fooled by the color images that are listed in the view images section. Granted, the book comes with a full-color CD which is an exact replica of the book, but in color. And thirdly, I was specifically looking for the maps that you typically find at the end of the Bible. They are shown above as part of the images, leading the reader to believe that they are part of the book. But after purchasing the book, I realized they are not included. I was very disappointed with this, because this was my primary reason for making the purchase. If you don't already have an LASB, then perhaps this is a good resource to include in your library collection, but if you already own an LASB, don't waste your time or money purchasing this reference of charts and maps -- you'll be disappointed.
Duplication January 3, 2007 0 out of 5 found this review helpful
This book and computer copy are not very useful. The computer pages are exact copies of the book and, in my estimation, waste a lot of paper with blank space. They are not well-designed and are rather boring.
Excellent Bible and Geographical Reference! May 10, 2004 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
With over 500 charts, 200 maps, and a topical index, the Handbook of Bible Charts and Maps is an excellent resource for anyone who wishes to learn more about the Holy Bible! In Handbook, information on each Book of the Bible includes: 1)theme, 2) explanation and background, 3) importance. I have often referred to the Handbook when trying to describe a particular geographical area when presenting a Bible study lesson. The maps are well-written and are not overly detailed nor vague. All in all, a highly recommended resource. Buy and enjoy!
Fantastic quality and value March 5, 2004 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
The book is much more than I hoped. It is well-organized and has synopses for each book Genesis to Revelation. Major themes are expounded very well. Good detail and information. A must-have for teachers and pastors. The entire book is repeated on the cd but it is on Actobat pdf which I personally don't find very user-friendly. This book is worth much more than $13.99!
