1 out of 5 stars Cannot Get Past Chapter 3   August 11, 2008
I cannot get past chapter 3. I have no clue after reading the first three chapters who did what to whom. The writing is terrible. Did Johanna have someone write this book for her? She's always been such a wonderful writer. When you are reading a book and you are on chapter 3 and still have no clue what is going on... there is something wrong.

It starts out with a wedding gone wrong. But why? I still don't know.
There is all this conversation about it but the conversation gives no clue as to what happened other than her best friend did something...

Ok so I read on and now I discover they were engaged before, got back together and now the wedding cancellation takes place. Then, in chapter 3 it mentions that the second engagement was because they were found together in a bedroom... thus the marriage that was ultimately resumed... then cancelled.

But why was the wedding cancelled??

So the book begins with a house full of guests to attend the cancelled wedding... the bride comes out and leaves a house full of guests without saying a word????

I am not even going to waste my precious time finishing the book, nor will I spend my hard earned money on one of Lindsey's books again.

4 out of 5 stars Keep going Lindsey   August 8, 2008
Hey guys, I must say I loved this book. I have read many Lindsey books over the years. She was my favorite author, I even did a class project on her when I was in highschool, over 10 years ago. I loved her Fabio series...The last couple of books, have lacked quality and basically I just didnt care. THis read was great...I couldnt put it down, I was so proud of her, so inspired and so connected to the characters. The love scense were good and I fell in love with the characters. A very good read, a good book to snuggle up with with hot cocoa. Loved it

1 out of 5 stars Awful Romance   July 21, 2008

This is the first Johanna Lindsey book I've read, and I was surprised after all the glowing remarks about her that this book was so awful. I felt the story premise was ridiculous and unbelievable. Even the romance between the two characters never seemed real. It was quite disappointing. Don't waste your time on this one. Perhaps I'll need to read one of her earlier novels to see why people love Johanna Lindsey.

4 out of 5 stars Historial England, kidnapping, lies & romance ....   July 15, 2008
Ophelia has a lot of issues over being a very beautiful spoiled women. She expects everyone to lie to her so she has never trust anyone. Raphael Locke, Viscount Lynnfield decides to kidnap Ophelia and help her become a better person - on a bet with Ophelia's ex-fiance. Ophelia and Raphael have great chemistry and story moves very quickly after the first few chapters. I tryed to read this novel when it first came out in hardback and just could not get into it - tryed again when my sister gave me a copy in paperback - and I thought it was good. If you enjoy this genre and price is right - it is worth the read.

I would also suggest; At the Bride Hunt Ball (Avon Romance) , Love Only Once: A Malory Novel,Surrender to Sin and Sin and Scandal in England.

2 out of 5 stars Just a love story   June 7, 2008
The book is good enough to read but nothing more. It doesn't have any dryly or witty retorts or some super special story. If you have it read it if you don't don't go running to the bookstore to buy it.
