Blast from the past June 10, 2008 I remember this toy, it was my favorite! With that said, it makes horrible snow cones. You need to crank forever to get enough for a small bathroom Dixie cup worth, and by the end the first bits of ice are melting. What I remember more than anything was that it shaved bits of PLASTIC into our ice if you let the cubes get more than 1/2 way ground. After a while, my brother and I just liked to grind the ice for playing with, not for eating.
Another commenter suggested freezing Kool-Aid and shaving that - I will try that idea, but in an electric ice shaver!
Love it. May 14, 2008 I had this toy when I was a little girl and now my children just absolutely adore it. With my help they love making ices with different flavors.
Not as great as I remembered December 8, 2007 I agree with the reveiw that says this toy is for nostalgia purposes only. This is the Snoopy snow cone maker we had as kids ourselves, so it's fun to see our kids now playing with it. BUT, it's really difficult to use - you need major muscle power to grind the ice into "snow." The plastic this toy is made of is super thin, so you constantly feel like the thing is going to break, especially given all the pressure you have to exert to get the snow to come out. Overall, this toy was fun to use once, but I doubt we'll be pulling it out of the closet too often.

I had one when I was a kid and this really is THE Snoopy Sno Cone Maker I had. It makes me feel so good to get this part of my childhood back.
For nostalgia purposes only.... June 2, 2007 33 out of 33 found this review helpful
I had such fond memories of this toy. I remember my Mom using ours on our front porch. My friends and I were all lined up with dixie cups and we all got a Snoopy sno-cone dessert. My Mom used it a few times after that, and then I never saw it again. I now know why!!!!
As a parent, you find out why your parents said "no" when you asked for things, etc. This Snoopy sno-cone maker was one of those things you need to experience yourself to find out why your parents always said "not now, maybe later".
I will say this, this definitely looks like the sno-cone maker we had. The plastic isn't as thick as the original, but everything looks the same. It's all there, the mini shovel, the Peanuts characters awaiting the shaved ice to come out..... well...
I was so excited when I found this today, I bought it for myself really. My daughter didn't seem excited until she figured out what it was all about. But boy oh boy, what hard work!!! It takes a lot of churning of one ice cube, and it just takes forever to get some sno to come out. It's a real bummer. Luckily I was only making this for my older daughter or I would have had one angry crowd. My arms were killing me and I barely made a serving. I did find as the ice cubes started to melt a little that it worked better, but it was just so hard to keep churning. I might never use this toy again. My Mom's advice was to freeze the juice/kool-aid in the ice cube trays instead of plain ice, she remembers that working more easily. I did try it, and it does. Still, a lot of work.
That being said, yes it's just a toy, so I am actually looking into getting an electric sno cone maker because the results of the Snoopy one are delicious, but tiring.
