Heroes is my hero. July 23, 2008 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
The start of Heroes was undoubtedly one of the greatest things to happen to television in a while. Season 1 is better than season 2 though. I didn't think that season 2 was that bad. I actually enjoyed it a lot. If you watched season 1, get this season. You'll need to be prepared for the 2 hour season premiere in September. I cannot wait! I have reason to believe that season 3 will make up for some of the flaws in season 2. The only reason I'm giving this a 5-star rating instead of a 4, is because I don't think that it deserves a 3-star rating. But I do give it a 4. A must have for your collection.
Not Great but Necessary July 22, 2008 6 out of 11 found this review helpful
While I was watching it, I can remember enjoying Season 2 except for one plot line that was just inconvenient but will eventually weave in to the main storyline in season 3. Anyway, people who look at season 2 as something completely separate from season 1 and season 3 are going to look foolish in September. After I saw season 1, I didn't think that it should have continued. When I saw season 2, it is very clear that there is a strong good story here that was interrupted by the writers strike. Season 2 in and of itself was not boring or even unentertaining, it just didn't really resolve and develop fully.
Now I must make a disclaimer that I am an English major and while that doesn't make me any better than anyone, I do appreciate story arcs and complexity more than the average person. Still, give this a chance because it does fit in with the overall story and it's necessary to prepare for season 3.

Ill admit season 2 did not live up to the first, but it was still well written and put together. The only major disappointment was the length of the season. I think the reason why most of the reviews here are bashing season 2 is because it did not has enough episodes to build up into anything big. Hopefully season 3 will get the show back on track.
Failed to follow an excellent 1st season July 16, 2008 13 out of 27 found this review helpful
Season two can be summarized neatly into one word: disappointing. Beyond that King showed us that instead of taking the characters we love and developing them further, he would rather split the plot to introduce new heroes who are ultimately killed off. Yes, our main villain with the eyebrows is back, (Sylar) but most of the season he spends it in amnesiac wanderings. Then there is the story of Hiro, who travels back in time only (oh so predictably) to be the cause of his own altered timeline (these paradoxes get repeated in almost every single time travel show in the history of tv/film, including the animated comedy Futurama where Fry travels back in time to sleep with his own grandmother, ugh). Anyway, if you want a good show watch season One. Season two will notoriously disappoint. Not sure how season Three will recover this failed attempt, but I am hopeful it does. There is not that much to watch on tv these days.
Gee, I wonder if I'll buy this July 12, 2008 2 out of 30 found this review helpful
The episodes I saw sucked (granted, I finally gave up six episodes in) and they want me to pay $26 for 11 episodes? I think I'll sell my first season DVD on CraigsList instead and wait for a show that doesn't feel the need to rip off the X-Men, Watchmen, and every other comic book ever written. The highly overrated first season was OK. The second season was unwatchable.
