1 out of 5 stars Disappointed in just about every aspect   November 21, 2008
I did a LOT of research before choosing this swing. I chose it based on the great reviews. I wish I hadn't.

First and most importantly, it's not very stable! Rocking causes the legs to shift and lift slightly off the ground! You can see where the feet have moved over the course of the rocking! I can't help but wonder how much worse it would be with a 25 pound baby. Another problem is that the curvature of the seat is SO shallow that it can't properly hold him in if he falls asleep! All babies lean over when they sleep - a swing should be able to keep him from leaning over the side! The belt should keep him from falling totally out.. but as it is, he leans far enough over that it worries me - I stop the swing and won't let him sleep in it (which, of course, makes him cry).

Mild disappointments include:
1) The fish-mobile is so low that I have to be careful not to knock his head on them when I put him in.
2) The auto-shut off for the music/mobile/lights is too short.
3) The seat is SO short that I can't imagine it's safe for a 25lb baby.
4) The seat recline isn't adjustable (I knew it wasn't but didn't think it'd matter. It does!).
5) The dome light is very muted and has never attracted our son's attention.
6) The conversion works well tho our son doesn't seem to enjoy the side-to-side rocking as much.
7) It is NOISY! Between the motor clacking and a popping sound from the legs shifting, it's a wonder he CAN fall asleep in it. I sure can't sleep when it's going (despite how tired I may be).

We borrowed a basic Graco swing when we had our daughter 3 years ago. I wish we could have borrowed it again or that I had purchased a Graco like it. I hate this swing. I used that Graco for naps, for feeding before she was ready for the high chair.. I used it daily for the first year of her life. This one is going away as soon as I can afford a different one.

I'd never recommend this swing to anyone.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome and durable product   November 17, 2008
This swing saved my sanity through two children. My second was a little colicky but this got us through! It has lasted over 5 years including 3 years in storage. When we took the swing out for our second child, we replaced the batteries, it was like starting it for the first time. No noise, the music sounded perfect, the fish dome worked, and the swing worked in both directions.

The folding of the swing is a great feature too. Although it still stands high, it helps with footspace in our home.

Great durable product! Well worth the money!

5 out of 5 stars Great Buy   November 9, 2008
I love this swing. There are times that I some time for myself and I put my son in the swing and he is totally relaxed and enjoying the fishes circling around.. sometimes he stretches his little arms to touch the fishes.. This swing gives me the freedom to get some work done w/o having to worry about my child's safety. I would recommend this swing to anyone who has a baby or knows someone who is having a baby b/c they will need something to help you hold and soothe your baby when you have to get some work done or need a few minutes to yourself.

3 out of 5 stars Its great but..   October 31, 2008
We got this as a gift and at first it worked quite well.
The safety harness is easy to use. And it even doubled as a feeding chair for our little one.
The only thing is that eventually although you can hear the motor running, it no longer swings the baby. Other parents we spoke to who own this model had the same comment.
Also, I wish that there was an option to power it from the mains instead of just batteries. Rechargeable batteries don't do very well in it.
If there is a model which can be powered from the mains I'd recommend it over this one.

5 out of 5 stars Free time maker!   October 12, 2008
To all new Moms and Dads: Get one of these before anything else!
I'm a new mom and my newborn just loves it!!! We got it when he was two weeks old, and he can get enough of it. He's now 2 month old, and this incredible thing will give you all that extra time you need to do things around the house, cook, clean, pluck your eyebrows, get pretty....anything!! He'll nap for hours on his swing.
I recommended it 100%!!!!
