Presto Canner October 4, 2008 Awesome product. It's nice to finally have a canner again with an actual guage on it. Let's you know exactly what the pressure is so you can agjust it.
HUGE canner September 25, 2008 Plenty deep enough for Quarts. Looks like it will fit 6-7 quart jars. I used it on a gas stove, it was WAY bigger than the burner and took a long time to heat up. The weight appeared to be 15 pounds pressure, not 10, so that took just a bit longer as well.
Product worked as advertised. Pricing was about the same as buying it local, after adding shipping costs in. Would be nice to have some kind of cleaner to get the water marks off, inside looks water stained after only a few uses.
I finally found one September 23, 2008 I purchased the Presto pressurized canner for my step-daughter for Christmas because this year she had a big garden & next year's will be larger & she mention she would like to have a pressure canner. I am sure that she will get many years of use from it. I am just so glad that I was able to find one through Amazon.com they are a hard product to find.
Pressure Canner September 18, 2008 First pressure canner we ever had. Worked really great and much faster than water bath method. We had a very good tomato crop this year, canned whole tomatoes, tomato sauce and salsa. We pressure canned the hole tomatoes and sauce but used the hot water method with the salsa. This canner worked great for both methods.
It works! No complaints September 16, 2008 It works as expected! I bought the Presto 23-Quart Pressure Cooker to can tomatoes and peppers from the garden. I did have to lift the air vent/cover lock to "encourage" it to raise but I expect that's because I didn't allow enough time for the venting period.
This version of the Presto 23-quart pressure cooker weighs less than the one that my mother used which makes it a lot easier to handle.
I'm planning on canning pumpkin and trying some of the recipes.
