I did a lot of research on pressure canners. The Presto stood out because it could be used on a flat top stove. I bought it and couldn't be more pleased. It is really easy to use and didn't take long to figure out how to maintain the pressure. I would highly recommend it.

We have small garden and wanted different way than freezing to save our harvest. Nothing large scale so didn't need one of the expensive fancy ones. So far have canned number of fruits, beans and peas. It works as designed. Have no complaints.

Presto 23-Quart Pressure Cooker July 28, 2008
I've used this cooker 4-5 times so far at 12 lbs. for canning Kokanee. It's trouble free and works perfectly with no problems of any kind. It easily attains and retains the pressure required. I'm completely satisfied w/it and have since bought a second one as well.

this was definately a good purchase. i got it specfically for canning meat. it came with good instructions and i was able to do my first batch with no problem at all. my family loves what i have done as well. i can buy meat and produce when it is on sale and process it and use it when i want. I can adjust the portions i put up by using different sized jars. the canned products take up much less room than the fresh and it does not require refrigeration which can occasionally be a problem when we lose electricity
