En Xalapa (lugar desde donde se redacta esta publicacion) no ha parado de llover desde hace ya una semana, dia tras dia, y no solo unas gotas, sino hasta que las alcantarillas drenan en sentido retrogrado y las calles forman rios que abordan la banqueta y las viviendas. Hoy amanecio el clima asi, y durante mas de una hora que pase navegando avenidas escuche este GRAN DISCO (Claudio). Este es el quinto album de estudio de la banda Sigur Ros, provenientes de Islandia (donde los criticos dicen que solo hay hielo y Björk). Y no se si fue el clima o mi humor, pero pienso que hay que tener corazon de piedra para no ser tocado por estos sonidos; melodias parsimoniosas, coros angelicales, una guitarra electrica que suspira cada vez que la acaricia el arco de violoncello, y cuando no es asi brilla con stacattos y letras que no entiendo lo que dicen pero que evocan muchas imagenes. Otro comentario que surgio es que es un ambiental tan epico que bien puede ser soundtrack de una pelicula de Narnia -y si me gustan- pero lastima, el soundtrack real es de Regina Spektor.
Quieren una recomendacion? Escuchen el primer track de la placa -Gobbledigook- con audifonos.

to put it simply. This is the first of their's I have bought so I was pleasantly surprised it was so good.
The first few songs have a lot of energy and the later songs are very toned down and peaceful, dreamy and in a way very emotional without trying to be.
Its like the best parts of Coldplay and Radiohead in one and better.

Sigur ros is such a great band, and with the new album, they deliver, in a big way.
rock, pop, chill out music, everything is in here.

Simply awesome, more happy songs than a normal Sigur Ros album but still just as mesmorizing.

I cannot get enough of Sigur Ros. Every single album since their sophomore effort has been a moody, masterpiece of soundscapes and this one keeps that string going.
